Brah-zzie Guillen Gets F*ckin Nice

by Stamos on May 21, 2007

We here at Brahsome.com like Ozzie Guillen. He’s obviously a good manager (see Ring, World Series), he’s charming, he’s a player’s kind of guy. He was really a favorite as a player not too long ago. But, we also know he’s a hothead, and isn’t afraid to explain his feelings using below average eloquence. One such occasion was captured on the radio this past weekend…

In one of the all-time great exchanges, Ozzie Guillen curses up a storm and Mike North, the gentleman who hosts the White Sox pre-game show on 670 The Score in Chi-town, tears him a new one. So you have a little context, AJ Pierzynski and Michael Barrett had gotten into a little scuffle in a previous game, and in order to avoid another altercation, Guillen left Pierzynski out of the starting line-up for one of the crosstown rivals’ games (as a side note, we don’t know of a good nickname for this rivalry, such as Subway Series or Battle of the Bay, so please feel free to send in your suggestions to Brahsomeblog@gmail.com). Pierzynski wasn’t pleased to be left out, and made some remarks to that point when speaking earlier with North.

Long story short, this is just another in the line of accomplishments Guillen can add to his resume when he’s looking for a broadcasting job in about 2 months. While we like him in the dugout, ChiSox GM Kenny Williams’ patience is waning. “It’s not about the talent,” Williams said. “This is about playing, to a greater degree, up to our capabilities. … We need to start picking it up now and start playing like the team that we’re capable of playing.

“I’m not afraid to shuffle the deck if something isn’t working,”

Sounds like Ozzie’s tenure with the Sox may be in it’s denouement. But, as master of linguistics Mike North would say, “If you can’t stand the heat, get the hell out of the kitchen, Junior.”

Second City Series?

No network will hire Ozzie Guillen as a commentator. It probably took you 2 hrs to write this weak blog. Well I want my 30 seconds back.

Thanks for the compliment Mick! Clearly you understand sarcasm. Like, for instance, “Ozzie Guillen will actually get hired for a broadcasting job”. Or, as another example, “You are not a smug douche.”
