The hits just keep on coming for Devil Rays outfielder Elijah Dukes. Off the field hits, that is. On the field he’s batting .193.
Just as the dust was beginning to settle on that whole threatening his estranged wife front, more details from Dukes’ personal life have made their way to the headlines.
According to the Devil Rays, Dukes asked for and received the day off yesterday after allegations surfaced that he impregnated a 17 year-old girl who had been placed into foster care at the home of Dukes’ step-grandmother, Johnnie Johnson.
The girl, who turned 18 in April, says that the sex was consensual and took place on the living room sofa. When the girl told Dukes she was pregnant with his child, “he got mad and threw a gatorade at me.”
Dukes already has five children with four women.
