I hope everyone had safe and happy holiday. For those who chose to take the whole week off, more power to you. For those who got sucked in to only getting one day off in the middle of an otherwise standy work week, and are now just about to head down to the coast or mountains, we salute you. Someone has to keep this country in order while people like me are blackfacing in the streets of the Illadelph and are 20 mintes away from heading towards the ocean. Either way, we weren’t going to leave you hanging with no Fixx, so hop down to see what treat we’ve got for you this week.
So I had it all qeued up that I was going with Soup from Blind Melon, but then Kigh snuck in the whole Melon group of posts, so we’ll save that for another day. Then, being that it’s just after Independence Day, I though about tossing out Freedom Isn’t Free from Team America, but really, that’s not live music, and we’ve tried to contain the Fixx to having only live music clips (despite totally backing the idea that freedom only costs $1.05). So, I was thinking what else would be appropriate for a beach weekend for the 4th of July, and one band obviously stood out. The Allman Brothers Band. So, here’s arguably the greatest ’sitting on the beach drinking a cold, cold beer while watching your boys toss Bocce and your lady friend frolicking in the ocean with her hot ass friend’ song ever recorded: Blue Sky.
