Lavins Take Their Party Across the Pond

by C. Brahkowski on July 11, 2007

Bruins Nation is reporting (in the spirit of disclosure, we don’t roll Bruins Nation, we got the story from Sports By Brooks) that Steve Lavin and his fiance have decided, at the last minute, to screw all of their friends and family who have made travel arrangments for SoCal and move their wedding to Europe.

Two wedding stories in a row? Wassup wit dat? It seems like every friend I have is tying the knot these days, so I might as well take this marriage-madness into my blahging life, too.

Honestly, the only reason I’m posting this story is because the future Mrs. Lavin (Mary Ann Jarou) is pretty hot…and having a beautiful woman front and center on our blahg can’t be bad for business. How did Lavin pull this chick?

Care to Get Nice?

Apparently Lavin and his hottie weren’t expecting that many people to truly care about their wedding, so when 95% of their brahs RSVP’d, they realized they didn’t have enough room. Wait…what? You invite people and if they say ‘yes,’ you cancel their invitation and move the wedding? Is this how it works out in Cali? That’s an honest question, because I don’t know how wedding planning is done, but that seems pretty retawded.

Again, this really isn’t much of a story, but his fiance is hot..so….yeah.

Here’s the letter they sent:

Update from the Jarou/Lavin wedding headquarters in Newport Beach.

Unexpectedly we have received a stunning 95% RSVP on sent out wedding invitations. As a result, our wedding guest list has far exceeded the maximum capacity for a traditional ceremony and reception at The Montage Resort.

After giving serious consideration to alternative plans we have decided the best option at this late stage is to head to Europe to create a magical wedding day.

Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconveniences this change in our wedding plans may have caused you.

We are sorry that we will not be able to share our big day with family and friends. We will be sure to send you photos of our wedding upon our return from Europe.

Please confirm that you received this email.

Thanks in advance for your understanding.

Warm regards,

Steve & Mary
