Only at brahsome.com can we follow up a piece on Japanese musical masturbation with a piece on the death of a football icon. There is no way to make this a smooth segue.
Former NFL coaching great Bill Walsh died today at the age of 75.
Walsh was hired in 1979 by the downtrodden San Francisco 49ers and turned them into one of the most dominant NFL teams of the 1980s. Over his 10-year tenure, the 49ers went 102-63-1 with six division titles and three Super Bowl victories. The first Super Bowl victory came in just his third season with the team that went 2-14 the year before his arrival.
Credited with inventing the West Coast Offense, Walsh was often called “The Genius,” and was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1993.
