Opera Loses "Greatest Tenor Ever"

by C. Brahkowski on September 6, 2007

World famous Italian opera singer Luciano Pavarotti, the man many consider to be the greatest tenor of all time, lost his battle with pancreatic cancer this morning.

We are not opera aficionados at brahsome.com, so it’s hard for us to really comment on the career of Mr. Pavarotti, other than to acknowledge his talent as an incredible singer and one of the only names and faces of opera recognizable to even the most casual fan of music.

Pavarotti retired from the stage in 2004 and was diagnosed with cancer in 2006.

Take the jump to see some videos of him performing with the likes of Barry White, Lou Reed, Bono and James Brown.

Ballhype: hype it up!
