Pederson No Longer Husking Corn…

by C. Brahkowski on October 15, 2007

The Nebraska Cornhuskers had big expectations coming into the 2007 season. Many of their fans were talking about a Big XII North title and a possible BCS bid if the Huskers could get passed Texas or Oklahoma in the Big XII title game. Then the season started. Four of their seven opponents have scored 40 or more points…including Southern Cal and Oklahoma Lite, who put up 49 and 45, respectively, in Lincoln, once considered one of the toughest venues in college football. Big XII North rival Mizzou beat them two weeks ago in Columbia 41-6, with the Huskers never finding the end zone and getting completely shut out in the second half.

Rather than blame the man who prepares for each game, calls the plays, and makes personnel decisions, the old men in Lincoln who sign the checks think the problem starts at the top, as it was announced today that UNL Athletic Director Steve Pederson has ‘’stepped down.” Harvey Perlman, the school’s Chancellor, has scheduled a 4 p.m. presser to give vague answers and broad generalizations to the terrible questions the reporters plan to ask. Stay tuned for details.

Is Bill Callahan’s seat officially on fiya?
