People across the country know UNC as a great basketball school where legends such as Michael Jordan, James Worthy, Kris Lang, and Alex Stepheson (pictured left) groomed their games. UNC is also well known for being a very liberal institution, welcoming students and faculty from all walks of life. This week, UNC announced that in addition to being a liberal basketball factory, it will also have a no-smoking campus. In response to a law enacted by the NC General Assembly, UNC has decided to ban smoking within 100 ft of any facility on or off campus. No word yet on whether the smoking ban includes poles, or is limited strictly to tobacco products.
