Return of Rasta Ricky?

by C. Brahkowski on November 14, 2007

ESPN is reporting that my boy Ricky has been reinstated by Iron Fist Goodell.

While I’m sure everyone out there is quickly running to their fantasy leagues to scoop up the most brahsome free agent in fantasy history, please be careful. Miami has not yet stated whether or not they plan to bring him back to the organization.

Obviously that whole “retire right before the season started” thing rubbed a few people the wrong way. And he’s been out for 18 months. But come on. Are things going so well right now down in Miami that they can’t afford to take a chance on the NFL’s 2002 rushing champion and 1998 Heisman Trophy winner for the league minimum?

After the jump is Ricky’s 60 yard TD run against Texas A&M to break Tony Dorsett’s NCAA rushing record. There’s no real reason I added it to the post…other than it’s fucking awesome.

Yaaaaaay! More underrated, team-first Texas running backs! Yaaaaaay!

Ouch.

My sarcasm meter is going off, so I take it you’re suggesting Ricky is over-rated. Is this what you’re saying? I don’t buy it.

I’ll give you Cedric Benson..I don’t know what his fucking problem is…but he’s killing me as a Texas fan and as Fantasy owner…but Priest? Selvin? Ricky? Over-rated? really?

Fair enough. In fact, that’s why I wrote it really, really sarcastically…so I could come back and say “I never called Ricky Williams ‘over-rated’”. And he’s not. But if you listen to Jason Whitlock, then Selvin is the only good guy out of the bunch (I’m convicting Ricky and Benson without hesitation). However, I don’t, and kind of like Priest, so I’ll let him slide. Plus, he makes Brian Billick look stupid, so I back that.

I’m glad they added that second audio clip on the Youtube too, btw. Is the best Musberger can come up with “There…goes…the…King of the Rushers!!” I mean, it’s horrible.
