The news is out but who are we to not report it – Barry Bonds has been indicted on perjury and obstruction charges.
If convicted on all five counts, baseball’s home run king could go to prison for up to 30 years.
“During the criminal investigation, evidence was obtained including positive tests for the presence of anabolic steroids and other performance enhancing substances for Bonds and other athletes,” the indictment read.
Um, if by “prison for up to 30 years” they mean “multi-million dollar one year contract from an American League team to hit for a season” than yes, that’s happening. Bonds isn’t going to jail. He’s going to cop some plea, we’ll have a two year long media circus about it and eventually A-Rod will take his record as he fades into oblivion as the biggest [alleged] steroid user to ever come through baseball. Good times!
