I’ve never watched an episode of Survivor. I wasn’t into it when it first came out and I’m usually one of those people who, if I’ve missed the beginning of a show, I won’t jump in later on. I feel like I missed the boat and I’m basically over it. Not the case this time. This time I have a horse in the race. Ms. Alexis Jones. I’ve known her since she was about 8 or 9 years old, as she is the little sister of one of my best friends and she was the same age as my little sister. After graduating from high school, Alexis moved out west to join the enemy…which is to say she attended USC (cough41-38cough) and earned her Bachelors degree in International Relations and Spanish as well as her Masters degree in Communications Management. So, yeah, she’s kind of a motivated young lady. She was also on The Price Is Right a few years ago and won the Showcase Showdown, taking home a hot tub, a sail boat, and a few other choice goods. With a resume that includes hosting a college TV show, being fondled by Bob Barker, and a run on Survivor, I think it’s safe to say the TV gods have smiled on my young friend. Tune in tonight to CBS at 8 pm et/pt for the premier. And to NateDog, I’m sorry for posting a picture of Alexis under a Morning Wood banner. Seriously.
A few quick hits after the jump.
1. After verbally committing to Mack Brown’s staff twice over the past week, Darrell Scott made an 11th hour switch yesterday and joined the Colorado Buffaloes. Scott’s uncle (his mom’s little brother) is a WR for the Buffs and apparently, although Scott and his HS coaches felt like Texas was the best fit, at some point between Tuesday morning and his presser on Wednesday (during which time his mommy had taken away his cell phone) Scott decided to join the Buffs. Weak game, son. Hawkins convinced Scott that he would overhaul his offense, making Scott the number one weapon. He also told Scott that, because Texas’ new RB’s coach Major Applewhite had been at four schools in four years, he was a sleezy coach who could not be trusted. Which I’m sure is true…I mean it’s not like Major is a young man moving up the coaching ranks and trying to build a career. So…instead of attending Texas, a school that has put running backs Preist Holmes, Ricky Williams, Cedric Benson and Selvin Young into the league in the last decade, he felt the best place for his talents would be a sub .500 Colorado team that will be learning a brand new offense. Makes sense. Have fun, momma’s boy.
2. I like this video of this little brah jamming out with Hank Williams, Jr so I’m throwing this in here as well. Have a great Thursday, kids.
