Morning Wood: Is it a Sign?

Late tonight, as the UNC Tarheels visit the NC State Wolfpack, the Western Hemisphere will see a red Moon as a lunar eclipse falls across its skies.  During a lunar eclipse, the Sun, Moon and Earth are directly aligned and the moon swings into the cone of shadow cast by earth and gives off a red glow.  Even with Ty Lawson expected to miss his fifth straight game with a sprained ankle, the Wolfpack will need all the help they can get.  Can a red Moon give the Wolfpack the extra boost it needs to pull off the upset?  A red Moon helped your boy Chris Columbus hold off natives in Jamaica in 1504.  Stranded with his crew on the coast of Jamaica and running out of food, Columbus faced increasingly aggressive natives.  Carrying his trusty almanac, CC knew that a lunar eclipse was coming and used it to his advantage to take command of the Jamaicans.  He told their leaders if they didn’t back off his balls and hook it up with supplies he was going to make the Moon disappear.  Sure enough, when the lunar eclipse hit the natives freaked and gave him whatever he wanted begging for him to return the moon, enabling his crew to kick it until they were rescued.  What a badass.  I’m going go tell random chicks that I am making the moon disappear if they don’t put out.
