Friday Fixx: 4/11

by Stamos on April 11, 2008

What a great weekend we’ve got staring us in the face right now folks- the Masters. If you’ve never pointed a sprinkler at your window, put on a huge pot of valium chili, and curled up with your favorite slanket for a Masters weekend, well.. brother you got some learning to do. Stamos is headed to the beach this weekend yet secretly praying for rain so he can enjoy the ultimate pile. As we continue with our series of ”where is Stamos’ job sending him this week and what localish music can he track down from there to share with us” we’ve got something nice in store for you after the jump.

So I’m headed to Nashivegas on Monday as the first stop in a 14 cities in 10 days tour for the old jobby-job. Hell- I may be headed to your town. In fact, if any of my loyal readers out there in anytown USA want to grab a beer, shoot us an e-mail with your town, and I’ve got a file going of people to get up with while on the road. Always like going back to my roots and mingling with the common folk. Anywho, there’s a shit-ton of good music around Nashville, and to be quite honest, I’m writing this while I get ready for an afternoon blackout on Thursday in sunny Chucktown, SC. So, long story short, I didn’t feel like looking for a great local band this week. Know who was born in Nashville, though? Duane Allman, that’s who. And I like Duane Allman, and I know you do too. So here’s some brothers from 1970 when Duane was still with us. Amazing to think this guy died at 24 and had already established himself as such an uber badass. Anywho, here’s Whipping Post from the Filmore. Enjoy.
