Chad Johnson has provided much comic relief during his NFL career with his on and off field antics. There was “The List” where CJ kept a checklist in his locker of what DBs were able to cover him. Then there was the faux-Hall-of-Fame Jacket that read “Future H.o.F 20??.” Always the humanitarian, Johnson announced during Hispanic Heritage Month 2006 that he wanted to be known as Ocho Cinco and put the new moniker on the back of his jersey. The No Fun League has fined Chad at every stop of the way, including the Ocho Cinco stunt. Now, in an attempt to circumvent the heavy hand of Roger Goodell, he is rumored to be legally changing his name to “Ocho Cinco.” I hope O.C. is smart enough to make “Ocho Cinco” his new last name, or else he might end up with just “Cinco” on the back of his jersey. That is, if Goodell doesn’t laugh him off to begin with. Regardless, this looks to be a geat marketing ploy that will keep him in the news all season. Say what you want about Chad Ocho Johnson Cinco, but your boy brings it every season. After his sophomore campaign, he’s never had less than 1200 yards and 7 TDs and is looking to keep that up this season with a new name and same old antics.

I wonder if he knows enough Spanish to know that Ocho Cinco is Eight Five. Does he want it to be Ochenta y Cinco? As in Eighty Five? And why not just change his name to ‘Chinga a tu madre, Roger’?
