There were many awesome things about 2001. I was still in college (making it not that different from 2005, 2006, 2007, or 2008 however). The Wolfpack had Philip Rivers. George Bush was still somewhat lovable and funny. And of course, the internet was barely alive. Email was … well, okay, the internet was still huge but not like it is today. In fact, I think I was still trying to boycott e-mail in 2001. Stupid me.
And today, Google takes us on a little trip back to a time when you couldn’t search the term “brahsome” and find lists of 10 cartoon chicks we would bang. Simpler times, really.
We had so much fun searching that we wanted to put this old index online for everyone to play with. We thought it’d be even cooler if we could actually see the full versions of the old web pages, so we worked with the Internet Archive to link to their cache of these pages from 2001. Step into the time machine and try a 2001 Google search.
So, go ahead. Hop into the way back machine, search for something that was awesome in 2001 and then buy yourself a brand new Chuck Amato “Florida State’s Defensive Line — THE VIDEO” on VHS. Good times. Or, if you’re into creepy times, Google “9/11″ and see what pops. Nothing. Which is just weird.
