The World Wide Leader is reporting that the brass at Clemson have finally pulled their collective heads out of their asses and fired the chronic under-achiever Tommy Bowden.
Had his name been Tommy “Johnson” or “Smith” or “Anything other than Bowden” his ass would have been canned a long time ago.
“They just told us. It’s what he deserved,” said senior quarterback Cullen Harper.

See, this is the smart move, though, becuase now they can get on hiring someone before any other vacancies come about (think Tennessee among others). Same thing UNC did to land Davis. Clemson has first shot at Lane Kiffin, Will Muschamp, and Bobby Johnson, though the real treat would be them hiring Terry Bowden out of retirement to replace his brother…
