Repeal Day: Time To Get Crunked

Repeal Day: Prohibition Ends on December 5, 1933
On this day in 1933 Utah ratified the 21st amendment, giving the US the necessary three quarters majority to repeal the bunkest act of congress this country has ever seen.

The 18th amendment, ratified in 1919, made it illegal for anyone in the United States to buy, sell, manufacture, or transport alcohol. How this legal travesty lasted 13 years is something this blahg will never understand. THIRTEEN YEARS of this? Mind blowing.

So to celebrate we ask you, gentle reader, to go out tonight after work and do your civic duty. Even if you can’t get blacked due to Saturday obligations, go out and have at least one drink with your peeps, your ladyfriend, your boy, whatever. Drink to the simple fact that you can.

You kids be safe out there. Cabs are cheaper than DUIs.

“To alcohol! The cause of — and solution to — all of life’s problems!
Homer J. Simpson

Cheers.
