Always finding the hot scoop, TMZ is reporting the round-mound of rebound gotten taken downtown. Charles Barkley was arrested in Arizona early this morning on suspicion of DUI. Chuck once made headlines with his Nike Commerical proclaiming he is not a role model. Well, at least the guy is honest.
No early word on what this will do to the NBA Hall of Famer’s aspiring political career. Barkley has openly discussed his intentions to run for Governor in his home state of Alabama, but also expressed concern that the gig didn’t pay enough to support his gambling habit.
I’ve used this spot before to speak out against drunk driving and today is no different. While Chuck may have been just barely over the limit, or completely blacked out, the message is the same. It’s not worth it. I know you’re not a role model, Chuck, but use some common sense. You’re filthy rich. Take a cab. If you need to do it in style, take a limo and fill it with hookers. Either way, it’s less expensive and less embarassing than having your mug slung all over the interwebs. I’ve certainly driven when I shouldn’t have and it took me a long to realize this, but a $20 cab ride is so much cheaper than paying my dirtbag roommate to defend you. So brahnation, when you’re out there getting your black on to ring in ‘09 tonight, call a cab. If you’re in the Raleigh area here are a list of cab companies.
