Today is the only day of the year where it is socially acceptable for grown men (and women) to publically and unabashedly fawn and drool over high school students.
It’s the day where all of us over the hill has-beens and never-weres place the hopes and dreams of our favorite college football program on the broad shoulders of kids.
It’s the day where 18 year old boys hold their first press conferences. Where they toy with the emotions of the men who will be running their lives for the next 3 or 4 years. Where they taunt the on lookers by placing 2 or 3 hats on a table before choosing the one that represents the school of their choice.
It’s awesome. It’s ridiculous. It’s fun. It’s heartbreaking. It’s all we have left of football season.
And it’s a great way to waste the next 8 hours of your work day.
