If you’re unfamiliar with Shane Black, you’re at least familiar with his work.
He wrote Lethal Weapon (at age 22!), The Last Boy Scout, Long Kiss Goodnight, and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.
He was paid $1.75 million for The Last Boy Scout, which was the highest paycheck for a screen play at the time.
So, he’s kind of a bad ass.
According to his ex-girlfriend, Sonya Popovich, he’s also a raging maniac. Ms. Popovich claims that Black leans towards the violent side … and might have a penchant for that ol’ white power.
She claims that, in 2006, he put a loaded gun in his mouth and threatened to kill himself … he then turned the gun on her, which discharged, adding a little character to the nearest wall.
It gets better:
She also claims he crushed and tried suffocating her during another incident during the same year. She says she was hospitalized for a hairline split in her esophagus that Shane allegedly inflicted. While in the hospital, Popovich alleges he visited her and on one occasion “crawled into [her] bed, removed a vial of cocaine from his pocket, sniffed some cocaine from the vial, and proceeded to masturbate in Plaintiff’s hospital bed.”
If “putting your lady in the hospital, going to visit her with cocaine in your pocket, using said cocaine whilst in her room, and then rubbing one out while laying in her bed with her” isn’t on your bucket list, it should be.

Ms. Popovich is a money hungry woman who is only out for herself. If you look at past records, Ms. Popovich was arrested several times for domestic violence, drugs, etc. If Mr. Black was using drugs and being violent, he was not alone!! Atleast he went for help and came out a better person. The same cannot be said for Ms. Popovich
Sonya is a great person and far from an addict of any sort. Ms. Popovich has no problems on her record and was never charged for any such things that you are claiming.. her only problem was Shane Black. Get real… you obviously work for Shane and are out to slander her on his behalf. It just shows that you are a bad person. You don’t even know her. The truth will come out.
Sonya Popovich is only out to line her pockets with Shane’s money. It’s been written on other sites that she is only sticking up for herself and wants justice. I guess 5 million + buys a lot of justice! Shane is a gentle natured person and if Ms. Popovich was injured in any way it was most likely due to Shane retraining her while she was in her own drug induced rage session. This is an attempt by Ms. Popovich to put her name on the map and fatten her bank account at the same time. Let’s face it. Had anyone outside of LA ever her of this woman until she made these rediculous aligations about Shane? What a slimely way to try a make a name for yourself! Minnesota must be so proud of their sweet Sonya!
