Robert Plant fronted the greatest band of all time. Don’t start arging in the comments either- Zeppelin is the best band of all time, period. Is it weird in print when you write the word period for emphasis, and then follow it with an actual period? Regardless, yesterday was Plant’s birthday, and despite all the damage he did with his weak solo shit, the Zeppelin from the 70s is just unparalleled as music. Any of our readers know what Zeppelin’s original name was? Mos’ brother won tickets to the No Quarter tour about 15 years back for calling into a radio contest and knowing the answer.

30 years ago this weekend, music lovers from across the country gathered at a farm in New York, and got nicer than anyone had previously gotten. If you aren’t familiar with Alvin Lee, and Ten Years After, get familiar. This is a clip of them playing I’m Going Home at Woodstock.

We’re going to Asheville next Tuesday. Hells yeah. Was talking with Brahkowski the other day about how, after listening to most of the work from this tour so far, it’s easy to see that Phish is still shaking off the rust. When I hear them in my head, I hear a combination of 94 and 03, which is just filth. So it’ll be tough to avoid disappointment when they sound more like Coventry than Chicago 94. Then again, bad Phish > great Anyone Else. Plus, enough Molly, and I’d prolly jerk to a Kelly Clarkson show.
