Sure it happens every other weekend to us anyway, but at least the city of Milwaukee knows how we feel now, as it has officially been spurned by Yi Jianlian, their first round pick (you may have heard of him before) in last month’s NBA draft. So awkward.

Of course, not helping matters is the fact that Guangdong Tigers chief, Chen Haitao, has been quoted as saying, “This is not — as media reports have said — because Milwaukee, as a city with very few Chinese people, is not good for Yi’s commercial development,” Chen said…”Rather we want to find a team suitable for Yi’s growth. That’s the root of the problem…”
Oh right. Well, gee Chen, that makes it all better, since its not the city of Milwaukee you hate, just the team and the staff there. But in good news, Chen does have a mancrush on Aussie Andrew Bogut, as ESPN reports that he “expressed concern” that Yi wouldn’t see much playing time with Bogut in the mix.
See, we knew Chen was totally unaware of what was going on Milwaukee.
By the way, we were going to try and get out the door without going off on a rant, but this really is total bullshit. You enter the NBA draft, and don’t have the stones to pull a Kobe (forcing the Hornets hand) then you play for who picked you. And you try and make that team better – which the Bucks would be if Yi hopped on board and gave them some rebounding. We don’t care whether you’re Asian, African, Hispanic, Caucassssssian (sorry got into our Distinguished Gentleman voice there for a second), you play for the damn team that picked you. Besides, who has seen this guy do anything but D up a chair and throw down a couple of soft jams?? Grrr. We’re just kind of fed up with this baloney. What’s next, get off scot-free for double murder just because you’re a famous football player or something?

I agree, it’s a complete crock of shit. People act like they have the right to play sports professional. It’s a privilege. If you don’t want it, stay the fuck home with your inflated sense of entitlement in China for your whole life. Doesn’t bother us ugly Americans one bit. I think the league should blackball anyone that pulls shit like this. Just like the NFL should blackball T.O. and no major league teams should have drafted JD Drew after he hamstrung the Phillies (leave to the fuckwad Cardinals to do it, by the way).
