The Youtubes are on FIRE right now in terms of discovering young athletic talent, first with this Cody Ross Pop Warner making it rain business and now it appears that Manchester United has invited 9 year old Rhain Davis to try-out for the team based on a You Tube clip his grandfather sent in. On this side of the pond, there’s plenty of people complaining about basketball recruiting websites tracking 4th grades at Rucker park, but somehow this is OK? Good luck to Rhain, though. Most of the child stars we know turned out pretty well (Lindsey Lohan, Danny Almonte, Danny Bonaduce among others). We remember when all of these little whippersnappers just kicked our ass in tee ball instead of going for broke and inevitably failing, but as philosopher once Joe Morgan said, “You really can’t compare anything anymore.”
