Vince Young is my homeboy. You know this. Everyone who reads brahsome.com knows this.
Last night was VY’s first Monday Night Football game. The NFL’s biggest stage of the week…and just like always, VY stepped into the spot light, took the challenge head on and won the big game. That’s what he does. He gets it done. His stats aren’t always sexy (14/22 passing with 2 TD/1 INT isn’t awful), but everyone on the team knows that he will put them in a position to win. Granted New Orleans was 0-2, but this was a Monday Night game where they were supposed to get their big win, in front of a rowdy home crowd, and right the ship. VY had other plans.
It’s becoming harder and harder for teams to take the “make him beat us with his arm” approach, because many are realizing he’s not the terrible passer they thought he was.
VY tracked down Michele Tafoya after the game to get his first MNF post-game interview, because he had a message. He would like to remind everyone that he is not just a ‘mobile’ quarterback. He’s a quarterback. Plain and simple.
p.s. The Madden Curse only applies to mortals.
