Kenneth Page Appears to Have a Large Bag of Bills for an Amateur Athlete

It’s pretty safe to say that each and every academic institution in America doesn’t have the cleanest reputation when it comes to participating in Division I athletics. We like to turn a blind eye most of the time, but when we get the following email (with the above picture attached), it’s pretty hard to ignore.

This pic was on Clemson recruit Kenneth Page’s Myspace page and it came down about as quickly as it went up. As some of you know he was a huge 4 star OL football recruit
this past year and it came down to Clemson and UNC where [UNC] lost out on signing day.

He must have been working hard this winter.

Now, one would assume that Kenneth — whose Myspace page you can see here — would be smart enough not to have a picture taken of himself in the backseat of a car, wearing a Clemson orange polo shirt and holding a huge bag of straight-from-the-bank $20 bills. On the other hand, we thought Kelvin Sampson could quit texting his players by now.

So we did our due diligence and checked up on his Scout.com page as well, and frankly, it’s pretty hard to argue that it’s not in fact Kenneth in the photo with the bills. It’s entirely possible that Page just has a really rich grandmother who likes to hand out wrapped bills in plastic bags, but either way, you gotta figure Kenneth and Lil’ Bobby got some explaining to do.

Hey I know lots of kids that carry 10K in a plastic bag and show their friends don’t you…The people at USC are going to start to recruit South Carolina hard now. I mean a 4Star for 10K that’s cheap. What did Bush cost them a house and 250K.

Come on Clemson if you are going to pay the players step up and really pay them. I mean the average Drug dealer has $10K make a statement!!! This is an insult to the highly recruited athlete.

Hey idiot, the money Reggie Bush allegedly received was not from USC or USC boosters. It was from his dad’s business contacts.

Jim Cannon March 27, 2008 at 10:48 pm

Hey idiot. What do you think the difference is between a USC booster and dad’s business associates might be??

Kenneth Page and his coach have both commented on this picture; it’s a legit picture. Page was in California on a trip with his parents to see relatives, one of whom owns about 9 ATMs in the area. A couple ATMs needed re-stocking and Page went with his uncle to fill them, had never seen that much cash in his life and decided to snap a photo with it all. Bad judgment on his part for putting it up on the internet, but damn people, don’t be so naive.

Thanks for the clarification pstanse, we’re all sorry for being so naive. I mean, I need to find this “relative” who rides around in a pick-up truck with that much cash to “stock” atm’s. I wonder if, no, how many times he’s been robbed. If not, Kenneth Page’s uncle can thank Kenneth and the coach for letting everyone in America know he does this.

The pic is now being used on ads in Facebook for one of those make money at home schemes.
