It’s pretty safe to say that each and every academic institution in America doesn’t have the cleanest reputation when it comes to participating in Division I athletics. We like to turn a blind eye most of the time, but when we get the following email (with the above picture attached), it’s pretty hard to ignore.
This pic was on Clemson recruit Kenneth Page’s Myspace page and it came down about as quickly as it went up. As some of you know he was a huge 4 star OL football recruit
this past year and it came down to Clemson and UNC where [UNC] lost out on signing day.He must have been working hard this winter.
Now, one would assume that Kenneth — whose Myspace page you can see here — would be smart enough not to have a picture taken of himself in the backseat of a car, wearing a Clemson orange polo shirt and holding a huge bag of straight-from-the-bank $20 bills. On the other hand, we thought Kelvin Sampson could quit texting his players by now.
So we did our due diligence and checked up on his Scout.com page as well, and frankly, it’s pretty hard to argue that it’s not in fact Kenneth in the photo with the bills. It’s entirely possible that Page just has a really rich grandmother who likes to hand out wrapped bills in plastic bags, but either way, you gotta figure Kenneth and Lil’ Bobby got some explaining to do.

Welp, either he is one of the youngest drug lords in SC or Clemson is starting to pay off…..oh wait a second, Clemson has always done that. NM, this is just common practice for Clemson now. To bad this kid wasn’t the brightest in the bunch.
Don’t EVER let a good rumor get in the way of the facts!

Talked to both Kenneth Page and his head coach Robin Bacon this morning.
Here’s the story from them.
Kenneth was recently out in California as one of five finalists for the Alfred M. Watkins Memorial Scholarship. Both his father and mother came along and both have relatives that live in California. They got to see one of his uncle’s right before he passed away a week later. They also got to see his great uncle on his father’s side of the family. This uncle is a very, very wealthy man. He owns nine ATMs and realized two were empty and low were very low. So they went to the bank that morning to get money to fill them up with. Kenneth said he had never seen that much money before so he took a picture with it. He wants to reassure everyone that yes, he didn’t take a single cent or keep a single cent of it.
Someone copied this picture off of Page’s facebook and tried to spin it into something that it wasn’t.
Bacon added this – “It is a shame when people want to tear down a kid who is a good Christian kid and a great role-model for other student-athletes, but that is the society we unfortunately live in today.”
Cris and I don’t expect to make any further comment on this.

I’m POSITIVE that the conspiratorial Clemson haters out there will NEVER swallow the truth and anyway it’s far more damaging to repeat the rumors they have dreamed up, so this will be another dirty little item that gets passed around amongst people with no facts to back it up. With that said I could tell you with nothing but absolute FACTS that Mister Spurrier has let his program be painted into a corner with a certain Attorney in the Columbia area bragging about being the premier representative for Gamecock Athletes that are in trouble with the law.

I find it funny that Clemson has a religious, academically gifted 4 star player that is getting heat for a simple picture while players down in Columbia have a lawyer bragging about working to straighten out their mistakes with the law. I digress though and anyway the rumor is just more exciting to repeat, so please continue spewing innuendo and untruths.
WOW….that “story” just for some reason does not ring true….everyone knows that stuff in college towns such as Clemson just get swept under the rug…go check out other college towns where the only reason that town exists is because of the school and you will find that things happen everywhere. Looks like here there is just some evidence that happened to get out.
ATMs dont work that way. They have currency boxes and the money is already loaded in them. The story youve heard is bogus, since the bills wouldnt still be wrapped with the purple and white paper.
haha this aint cuba you fucking retard, atm’s are privatly owned and where do you think the money was before it went into one of these boxes?
I live in California (Los Angeles) and those do not look like the kind of trees you see out here. Mostly palm trees that are bare on the trunk until the very top.
Not to mention the alibi. His uncle owns ATM’s and his uncle is actually the one who goes around filling them? As opposed to…I dunno….A COUPLE ARMED GUARDS? I don’t even think I’ve seen ATM that wasn’t owned by a bank except the kind you see in fast food places. Those don’t give you cash. They give you a receipt you take to the counter and they give you cash. This story just doesn’t fly at all.
