Ladies and Gents…Ms. Ann Marie Calhoun

by C. Brahkowski on April 28, 2008

Ann Marie CalhounAs you read last week, Panic blew through bRaleigh this past weekend. I don’t claim to be a Widespread Panic aficionado, but I’ve seen my share of their shows in the last 10 years or so, and I can honestly say these were two of the best I’ve seen in a long time.

In my opinion, the addition of Jimmy Herring has made Panic a lot more fun to see in recent years, but Herring wasn’t the MVP this weekend. That award goes Ann Marie Calhoun, who sat in with the band on Saturday and brought the house down with her fiddle. She came out in the second set for Driving > Surprise Valley > Drums >Surprise Valley > Heaven > Driving Song then returned for Fishwater during the encore.

Download the show here.

Take the jump for two short clips of her performance on Saturday plus a youtube of her covering Phish’s Stash.

Girls with hats. Personal wiqueness of mine. And she plays the fiddle, dig it.

YO Brahkowski,

Great minds(libidos) must think alike because I already scanned Miss Calhoun’s blog last night for hot pictures.

You are spot on with your Panic analysis. Ann Marie tore it p on Saturday night.

Herring makes the band flow much better and both shows were downright nasty.

Oh, did I mention Ann Marie is hot? Smoking.

Hey brahs (and brahettes) -

Widespread released a pro-shot video clip from the show which I posted here…

It’s Driving > Surprise Valley and it is killer! Wouldn’t have minded a little more Ann Marie and a little less JB, but killer none-the-less :)

Enjoy,
TL
