Sorry. Hold on.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
Ok. I’m done. I just wanted to sa-. Oops. Hold on.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
Ok. Seriously. I’m done.
Ryan Perrilloux gave a verbal commitment to Texas in 2005. With a “commitment” from the #1 QB in that class, Texas shut down it’s QB recruitment for the year. There were always whispers he wasn’t 100% sure he wanted to leave Louisiana, but he re-assured the staff on multiple occasions.
On the morning on National Signing Day he told the Texas coaches he was ready to go. 20 minutes later he signed with LSU. It was later revealed that he had been secretly recruiting for LSU for months, even sending another recruit an “LSU Holla” text minutes after speaking with the Texas coaches that morning.
Rather than taking the reigns of a national championship team at Texas (Vince Young opted for the NFL that same year), RP went to LSU, where he told teammates and the media that he would win multiple national championships and Heisman trophies. Then he sat behind Jamarcus Russell. Then he sat behind Matt Flynn. Then he got suspended a couple of times. And caught up in an FBI investigation regarding counterfeiting.
When he did play, he showed flashes of greatness. He’s talented, there’s no denying it. When Flynn went down last season, RP stepped up and won the SEC Championship game. Then got suspended from the team again. Then he was reinstated.
And now his time has finally come. Now is his chance to take over a National Championship team. Oh. Wait. What?
How bad does it have to be for Les Miles to kick you off of his team?
Have fun in Division I-AA, suckah.
