Ruh-Roh Wolfpack Fans (Alternately: Mamma Mia! Football Season Is Almost Here!)

by Brinson on July 18, 2008

The reason that we Wolfpack fans love Tom O’Brien (TOB) is that he is a hard-nosed, play by the rules, bring the run early and often and build that offensive line. He served time in the military. He looks like a badass. He does not wear clown shoes or ridiculous sunglasses. The list goes on.

If you asked me: “Is TOB a ‘Dark Knight’ type of guy or a ‘Mamma Mia!’ type of guy?”, there would be no question about it. TOB rocks out the Dark Knight. (Even if you want to say comics are for nerds, Batman is a badass.) Well, I would be wrong. Dead, dead wrong, according to the N&O (via Ovies at 850).

[O’Brien] and his family plan to watch “Mamma Mia” in Charleston, S.C., before the season starts, and O’Brien says his youngest daughter probably will be embarrassed. When they saw the show live in New York a few years ago, O’Brien stood up and sang along while his daughter pleaded: “Dad, will you sit down!”

Mnnnnnnnnnnnnoooooooogadddddd. I wouldn’t expect anyone that’s smart enough to become a head coach to lack total high end culture. Of course, I also wouldn’t expect the man that’s leading our troops into battle to be standing in a Broadway play and singing along.

Iowa State head coach Gene Chizik, former D-Coordinator for undefeated seasons at Auburn and Texas, looks like he spits nails, but regularly confesses that ABBA is his favorite music and he listens to them before games.
