More love flowed in the SEC today when Tennessee head coach Phil Fulmer was issued a subpoena while attending SEC Media Day.
A few years back the big man ratted out Bama on some NCAA violations, leading to probation and costing them a few ’ships. The fact that Fulmer is known to run a slimy program and doesn’t exactly have control of his own horses makes this all the more fun to watch.
The story goes that Fulmer was the one that brought up Wendell Smith. Mr. Smith is some Alabama swing cock that allegedly paid Kenny Smith ten grand to sign with the Crimson Tide. Mr. Smith says he was wrongly accused and is suing the NCAA. Big Phil was subpeonaed today to give a deposition in relation to this lawsuit.
He wasn’t impressed.
“I have not seen a subpoena,” he said. “This is not the place for that kind of thing. There are great fans that are very passionate about the Southeastern Conference that aren’t interested in that kind of B.S.”
He then polished off the rest of his meatball sub and moseyed on towards the door.
