You’d think that among a billion people, there is someone that is simultaneously attractive enough to represent your country on TV, yet also possesses a tolerable singing voice. You’d be wrong. Word has leaked out from China that the cute little girl seen singing during the opening cermonies of the Olympics was actually lip-synching. The beautiful singing voice? Provided by another young Chinese girl, who, according to Chinese officialls, has a ‘face for radio.’ Keep in mind, that was me being quoted, not the Chinese officials.
Lin Miaoke was seen by millions of people around the world as she beautifully performed “Ode To The Motherland” at the beginning of the Olympic Games this year. And while she might not have the pipes of Christina Aguilera, she definitely has the lip-synching ability of Ashlee Simpson. And this episode may confirm what we all feared when we first met William Hung: If you’re Chinese, you are either attractive or you are talented. Unless you’re Zhang Ziyi. Then you are just fantastic. Or you’re William Hung, and you’re neither.

It’s not about cuteness. Chen Qigang was paid off, to make that decision. The Reporters at the Olympics could dig and find more of this type of corruption in China. Especially if they have enough Yuan to get the answers.
