Normally we don’t dabble in expletive in the title. It’s just poor journalism and, above all else, that’s what we are here at brahsome.com. We’re journalists. But shit. This lady is a dumbass. Pure and simple.
You know that email scam that we all used to get back, oh, five or six years ago? About the Nigerian dude needing a little coin to get back on his feet? And then he would send you a check for $25 million for your troubles. Well this lady bit … and she bit hard. To the tune of $400,000.
Spears, who is a nursing administrator and CPR teacher, said she mortgaged the house and took a lien out on the family car, and ran through her husband’s retirement account.
“The retirement he was dreaming of — cruising and going around and seeing America — is pretty much gone for him right now,” she said.
It’s kind of hard to make fun of this lady … I mean she got completely worked over and pretty much lost it all … but at the same time. COME ON! How could you seriously fork over four hundred grand to an anonymous person you met via the internet?
Another little gem:
When Spears began to doubt the scam, she got letters from the President of Nigeria, FBI Director Mueller, and President Bush. Terrorists could get the money if she did not help, Bush’s letter said. Spears continued to send funds. All the letters were fake, of course.
Yeah. If GWB, the Nigerian President, and Director Mueller need assistance, they’re definitely going to send some little old lady in Sweet Home, Oregon a letter asking for assistance. Jebus.
