Hockey is Actually Entertaining?

by The Piler on April 29, 2009

I admittedly hate hockey and refuse to get on the Hurricanes bandwagon, but there have been some incredible finishes in the Devils’ series, including last night. The ‘Canes scored two goals in the last minute and a half to take the game and the series. Suck it, Brodeur.

The Hurricanes bandwagon fires up every Spring if the ‘Canes are in the hunt. People who can’t tell your the first thing about hockey, or one player on the team, are suddently raging Caniacs. My buddy summed up the phenomenon perfectly. He got invited to game four after not attending a game all season and quipped last night, “It was great, but I couldn’t really tell which team was which.”

Wild Bill is a true Hurricanes fan, meaning he actually goes to games (both regular season and playoff) and watches them at home … so it’s kind of rubbing off on me … but like you mentioned, I’m definitely only a fan during the playoffs.

the regular season is just too damn long.
