R.I.P, Jacko

by The Piler on June 25, 2009

The King of Pop, Michael Jackson, is dead at age 50 of an apparent heart attack according to numerous new outlets, including the L.A. Times. One of the most enigmatic figures in music history, Jackson started his music journey with his siblings in the Jackson 5. His career was filled with ups and downs, including allegations of child molestation, a strange marriage to Lisa Maria Presley, the dangling of his child from a balcony and the metamorphosis from a black boy to a white woman. Despite all of the controversies, Jacko’s legacy will be his music, which just makes you want to dance. The hits go on and on and his videos, including Thriller and Black or White, revolutionized the music video and MTV. His dancing was also influential, with the Moonwalk possibly being the most oft imitated dance move of all time. He will be missed. R.I.P., Jacko.
